Background & Location
I was visiting Sacramento for the first time, and needed a one-night stay before driving to Lake Tahoe. My friend and I decided to try out the Westin Sacramento Riverfront Hotel & Spa, which is located 11 miles from Sacramento International Airport and 4 miles from downtown Sacramento.
The Westin Sacramento Riverfront offers 101 guest rooms and suites. It opened in 2008 as the Le Rivage Hotel and converted to a Westin in 2013. This was evident in how it felt very unique for a Westin and didn’t seem too cookie-cutter.
Takeoff Points
Date of Stay: June 2025
Pros: Nicely refreshed property & solid Westin Heavenly Bed with two king options.
Cons: The Restaurant wasn’t the best for breakfast.
Takeoff Point: The Westin Riverfront Sacramento could be a solid option when visiting the city if you don’t need to be in downtown.
Check-In
The day before arrival, I saw on the Marriott Bonvoy App that I was upgraded to a River View room, which was nice. Also, the fact that the property has 2 Kings versus 2 Queens or Doubles is a major pro for families and those sharing with friends.
I checked in quite late, after landing from my JetBlue flight into Sacramento. A friendly associate helped us, and my Marriott Platinum status came with a $15 breakfast credit ($30 for the two of us). The lobby was pretty nice for a Westin.

We were also provided reusable plastic water bottles, and they had stations in front of reception (still, sparkling, and alkaline).

The Room
As you enter the room, the bathroom is to the right. My first impression was that the bathroom consisted of a very cute clawfoot bathtub.

It also had a stand-up shower, a single vanity, and a separate water closet area. The signature Westin White Tea Aloe toiletries were provided. This included shampoo, conditioner, and body wash at both the showers and the tub. A body lotion and mouthwash were provided, as well as makeup removal wipes. Lastly, there were also bath salts, but they were $13, which I thought was too pricey.

The major feature of the room was the two large king-size beds. There was a nightstand in between and featured plenty of charging from universal power outlets, as well as a lavender balm for sleeping.

The TV offered streaming capabilities, and the room offered a coffee maker and a mini fridge for personal use.
Then there was a large table with two chairs, which served as a dining table or could also be used as a desk to work.
Plus, our room had a balcony overlooking the riverfront.

Dining
The main restaurant is Scott’s Seafood on the River, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We had breakfast there, but both our dishes were too heavy in taste. Room service from Scott’s is also available.

There’s also a small coffee shop next to the reception desk. Suite Eats is available from the lobby market, which offers snacks and drinks.
Amenities
The onsite Spa La Le offers a variety of treatments from facials to massages. And there is a 24-hour WestinWORKOUT Fitness Center. The fitness center is a bit small, but it is sufficient for a quick workout. Lastly, there is an outdoor heated pool.

The Verdict
Overall, I had a solid, quick stay at the Westin Sacramento Riverfront Hotel & Spa. The highlight was the nicely updated room with the amazing Westin Heavenly Bed.
Cheers,
Ty
