If you’ve read any of my hotel reviews, you would’ve noticed that Hilton is usually my hotel chain of choice. So it’s no surprise that the Hilton Aspire Card is one of my favorite travel credit cards. However, over the last few months, we’ve seen the world dive head first into a public health and economic crisis. In response to dynamic shifts in consumer spend, Amex introduced many temporary benefits and credits. One of those benefits was the ability to use your $250 resort credit with the Amex Hilton Aspire Card at US restaurants. If you haven’t used it yet, you only have 10 days left before it runs out!
$250 Amex Hilton Aspire Resort Credit
As per the most recent changes, Amex has allowed customers to use this credit at US restaurants from June 1 to August 31. Many customer data points as well as Amex chat reps pointed out that you could use these credits for food delivery services as well. Data points hint that the following delivery services work:
- Uber Eats
- DoorDash
- Caviar
- ChowNow
- Grubhub
- PostMates
Given how many options you have, it should be pretty easy to max out this credit. I’ve already used my credit by ordering food on Uber Eats. I can confirm that the credit worked for me without any issues.
Similarly, Doctor of Credit points out in this post that you can also this benefit at Starbucks. A few customers have reported having received the credit for Starbucks card reloads.
The Pundit’s Mantra
If you still haven’t maxed out the $250 credit, you still have a few days left. As travel numbers continue to remain flat, it’s great that we have other options on the table to use our credits and benefits.
The Hilton Aspire card continues to be a solid co-branded card for Hilton stays. It rewards you with top tier Diamond status with Hilton. Additionally, it can help you rack up a ton of Hilton points. You can earn 14x points per dollar spent with Hilton. You’ll also earn 7x points per dollar spent on select travel purchases as well as dining purchases in the US. The icing on the cake is that you earn one free weekend night after you sign up for the card. Each year when you renew the card, Amex gives you another free weekend night.
Also, the credits on offer more than pay for the annual fee of $450. Each calendar year, you’ll get a $250 Airline Fee Credit and a $250 Resort Credit. This card is currently offering a sign-up bonus of 150,000 Hilton Honors points.
You will earn a sign-up bonus of 150,000 Hilton Honors points after you spend $4,000 in the first three months.
