“Travelers are embracing these solutions”
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released three graphs today (see below) that show the continued growth of United States travelers taking advantage of various methods to expedite the entry process into the U.S.
For example, Automated Passport Control (APC) reached 3.2 million users during January 2015, while Global Entry enrollment and usage also has “risen dramatically,” says CBP.

This growth should come as no surprise as the number of Global Entry Enrollment Centers grows as does the popularity of the program, even for the occasional international traveler. If you are not enrolled in Global Entry, there is no better time than the present, as we may quickly be down the road of what could be longer wait times and confusion in the non-PreCheck lanes of TSA checkpoints throughout the United States.
I don’t mean to put fear into your heart, but barring any further delays extensions granted by the federal government for states to comply with the REAL ID requirements, flying this time next year in the United States could get interesting.
Just another reason to do all you can to seek those beautiful words on the top of your boarding pass “TSA PRECHECK“… Yes!
If you have not become a Trusted Traveler in the Global Entry program, why not?
