It’s not quite clear what happened here. There may have been two kids involved, the boy may have actually been 11 years old, and it appears that this could have been more panic that a more serious altercation.

Flying with older kids usually isn’t stressful, at least in my experience. It’s suggested that autism may be a factor here I’ve seen autistic kids on a few flights, and on one occasion I became concerned with how loudly the kid screamed at times. I really feel for the parents. I have friends with an autistic child, and it is incredibly tough at times. Being stuck on a plane just makes things 10x worse.
