Posing inside the engine cowling of an airliner might not be the greatest idea in history right outside the terminal window, but I cannot fathom why on earth anyone would bother to call the local news station to ask if it is some kind of new preflight checklist item. I can’t prove it because I can’t find it, but yours truly might have posed in the nacelle of a 767 once upon a time.
What on earth am I talking about? Apparently a Spirit Airlines flight attendant had someone snap a photo of her posing inside the nacelle of one of Spirit’s Airbii before a flight in Chicago. And then things got interesting. An enterprising passenger, as noted above, then called the local news station. And then….they found out said F/A posted the pic on her Facebook page….still haven’t figured that one out.
Frankly, I’m floored that this story “took wing.” Pun intended. Is there really nothing else for the media to pontificate about this week? Yeah, that’s what I thought. Bottom line from this ex-airline guy – maybe it wasn’t the smartest idea to take the picture right outside the terminal window, but at the same time, I might’ve done the same thing. Let it go, and I hope Spirit does too.

Yet you’re reporting on why this never should have been reported on.
Felt right for a Friday night.
