American Express has started the year with a bang, offering higher than usual welcome bonuses on their co-branded credit cards with both Marriott Bonvoy and Hilton Honors. American Express is also offering higher than usual bonuses on their co-branded credit cards with Delta SkyMiles as well. However, unlike their hotel counterparts which have much longer expiration dates, these airline bonuses are ending in a week’s time. With these offers, you can earn up to 125,000 miles from just one credit card welcome bonus.

American Express offers a total of seven co-branded credit cards with Delta SkyMiles. Six of those cards are offering higher than usual welcome bonuses, which includes three consumer cards and three business cards. These offers are slated to expire on April 1, 2026.

DELTA SKYMILES GOLD AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD

With this offer, you’ll earn a welcome bonus of 90,000 Delta SkyMiles.

This welcome bonus is tiered. You’ll earn 70,000 bonus miles after you spend $3,000 in the first three months of card membership. Additionally, you’ll earn another 20,000 miles after you spend an extra $2,000 in the first 6 months of card membership. In essence, you only have to spend a total of $5,000 to earn the entire bonus of 70,000 miles.

What”s great about this card is that it charges no annual fee for the first year. However, from the second year onwards, you’ll pay an annual fee of $150.

DELTA SKYMILES PLATINUM AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD

With this offer, you’ll earn a welcome bonus of 100,000 Delta SkyMiles. You’ll earn 80,000 bonus miles after you spend $4,000 in the first six months of card membership. Additionally, you’ll earn another 20,000 miles after you spend an extra $2,000 in the first 6 months of card membership. In essence, you only have to spend a total of $6,000 to earn the entire bonus of 100,000 miles. This should easy for most folks to attain as you only need to put $1,000 in spend each month on the card.

DELTA SKYMILES RESERVE AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD

With this offer, you’ll earn a welcome bonus of 125,000 Delta SkyMiles.
You’ll earn 100,000 bonus miles after you spend $6,000 in the first six months of card membership. Additionally, you’ll earn another 25,000 miles after you spend an extra $3,000 in the first 6 months of card membership. In essence, you only have to spend a total of $9,000 to earn the entire bonus of 100,000 miles. This should easy for most folks to attain as you only need to put $1,500 in spend each month on the card.

DELTA SKYMILES GOLD BUSINESS AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD

With this offer, you’ll earn a welcome bonus of 90,000 Delta SkyMiles after you spend $6,000 in the first 6 months of card membership. This card charges no annual fee for the first year. From the second year onwards, you’ll pay an annual fee of $150.

If you carry any of the above cards in your wallet, then you’ll automatically enjoy a 15% discount while booking a flight when you redeem your miles. Bear in mind that the discount only works on flights operated by Delta. The 15% discount will not work on flights operated by Delta’s partner airlines.

THE PUNDIT’S MANTRA

Overall, these offers are great if you live at a Delta hub or fly Delta frequently. These limited time offers will help you get your travel plans with Delta kickstarted. If you’re simply looking to to earn miles, then the Gold card might be the best option as it carries no annual fee for the first year. If you make frequent trips, then the Platinum cards might be the right fit.

I’d only recommend the reserve cards if you’re a road warrior, frequently fly Delta, like to use their airport lounges and are looking to earn elite status. If you’re looking to apply, then bear in mind that these offers expire on April 1, 2026.
