If you frequently fly Delta, then you have multiple options to choose from when it comes to co-branded credit cards. Amex offers a total of 7 credit cards. However, not all are created the same. The Delta SkyMiles Platinum credit card is a card that is perfect if you’re looking to ramp up spend to earn more Delta SkyMiles, with an eye on earning elite status.

Delta SkyMiles Platinum American Express Card – Earn 90,000 bonus miles

With this offer on the Delta SkyMiles Platinum card, you’ll earn a welcome bonus of 90,000 Delta SkyMiles. You’ll earn the welcome bonus once you spend $4,000 in the first 6 months of card membership. This card carries an annual fee of $350, but you can offset the fee to a large extent, thanks to benefits and credits offered by the card.

Earning Miles

With this card, you’ll earn a decent chunk of Delta SkyMiles on everyday purchases:-

  • 2x miles for every dollar you spend on dining (including takeout and delivery) and groceries in the US
  • 2x miles for every dollar you spend with Delta directly
  • 1x miles on all other purchases

Simply put, if your goal is to earn Delta SkyMiles on everyday spend, then this card does the trick.

Statement Credits

You will pay no annual fee in the first year. From the second year onwards, the annual fee is $150. However, you can offset the annual fee by using the card to earn statement credits on the following purchases:

  • You will earn a $200 Delta Flight credit once you spend 10,000 in purchases in a single calendar year
  • $100 Delta Stays credit each ear, when you book qualifying prepaid hotels or vacation rentals via delta.com/stays
  • 20% discount in the form of statement credits when you pay using your card for in-flight purchases of food and beverages

Benefits while flying Delta

When you fly Delta, you’ll enjoy the following benefits as a cardmember:

  • First checked bag free
  • Priority boarding (Zone 5)
  • 15% discount when you redeem miles to book flights operated by Delta
  • Baggage insurance (up to $1,250 for cabin baggage and up to $500 for checked baggage)

Additional Perks

In addition to benefits while flying with Delta, you’ll also enjoy the following benefits, simply for carrying the card:

  • Car rental loss and damage insurance
  • Purchase protection and extended warranty

Other Options

American Express offers a total of 7 co-branded credit cards with Delta. You have 4 options to choose from on the consumer side, 3 on the business side.
