Matching Your AAdvantage and Dividend Miles Accounts

When the 2015 AAdvantage program was announced, the opportunity to match our AAdvantage and Dividend accounts in “early 2015” was mentioned. As View From the Wing noted last night, that matching function went live overnight. When I signed into my AAdvantage account this morning I was greeted with the following screen.

2015 aadvantage program, new aadvantage program, dividend miles, combine aadvantage and dividend miles

I entered my Dividend Miles #, and the system appeared to work as advertised. I was immediately taken to a confirmation screen.

I also received confirmation emails from both AAdvantage and Dividend Miles noting my accounts had been successfully matched. My Dividend Miles experience dates all the way back to the Piedmont Airlines program, so I was am anxious to see how this all works out when the programs are combined later this year. Sign into your AAdvantage account and match to your Dividend Miles account (or vice versa) at your first opportunity.

I tried to do the same – to match my AAdvantage and Dividend Miles accounts. Although my information is the same on both accounts, the system returns an error. Sending an email to the help center did not produce any results. Any suggestions?
