The Cathay Pacific Lounge Paris CDG was a good oneworld lounge that is open to Cathay Pacific premium flyers as well as oneworld and contract flyers. Although it has been closed since the beginning of the pandemic, it was a nice place to wait when I flew out in 2018. I was traveling on Air Tahiti Nui and was allowed access to this lounge. It comes with all the essentials, plus great views of the runway.
Note:
Dear Reader,
Before you begin this review journey with me, I want you to know that this review is a bit dated. It is from before the COVID pandemic. I had planned on publishing this one and others slowly during and after the pandemic. However, my job at the time requested I not write them. As some of the airlines were their clients, they explicitly requested I refrain from writing anything that could imply any conflict of interest. Recently, after starting a new job, I have decided to publish this one and others. I will note wherever I can what has changed, and include a year for when the flight happened, in the interest of clarity. Please enjoy this review!
Cathay Pacific Lounge Paris CDG Location
The Cathay Pacific Lounge CDG was located in Terminal 2AC on the second floor. The lounge has been closed since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and on my last pass through Terminal 2 at CDG, the lounge remained closed, with the marble wall having the Cathay Pacific logo removed. This review will focus on the lounge as it was in October 2018.
Taking the escalators up, you will see the beautiful white marble entrance for the lounge. Upon entering, friendly agents will scan your boarding pass. As I was there very early in the morning, there were very few staff at the lounge, with only one person manning reception (while doing the job as lounge manager). Once inside, I found that I was the only person in the lounge. I was not expecting it to be empty, but it stayed that way for about an hour. It was nice to sit in quiet and read while I waited for my flight.
Cathay Pacific Lounge Paris CDG Sitting
The lounge itself is structured in one large room. Think of a large conference room, but subdivided with chairs to create sections. The main sitting portion of the lounge, closest to the entrance, had lined-up cream chairs facing each other. Each chair is next to a small side table with power outlets.
Behind the dining area, closer to the entrance, there is a small business center. It had two Macs and a wireless printer, always a useful tool since I had to print something from my phone!
Finally, closest to the window and farthest from the entrance, there is a comfortable seating area. The chairs that face the windows each had their own small side table, however, these lacked power outlets. There were also cocoon-shaped loungers that had a built in table. They were facing perpendicular to the window, and were very comfortable and private. I spent most of my time in the lounge working from these and reading, which was extremely pleasant. The seats were so private I did not realize more people were in the lounge until a family of five sat near the windows! Each cocoon had its own power outlet, and the tables were large enough to fit a standard 15-inch laptop and a cup of coffee.
Dining Area and Food and Beverage Options
Opposite the main seating section is the main dining area. It has a self serve buffet, with a number of hot and cold items. The food was mainly “Western” with the only Chinese dish being congee and fixings. There were also juices, sodas and an espresso machine. The liquor selection was decent, but at 8am I was not interested in anything.
I had two cups of coffee while I was there: the espresso quality was quite good! The food was fine, except for the eggs which were too runny for my taste. Once I served my food, I took it to the cocoon chairs and ate there, with the one friendly staff coming around to check on me.
Final Thoughts
The Cathay Pacific Lounge CDG was a pretty good outstation lounge. With ample seating options and great views of the runway, it was an easy place to spend time. I wish they had more Chinese breakfast options, but I assume that was a result of there being no Cathay Pacific flights in the morning. Western breakfast food probably is more in demand when everyone is flying to the US or intra-Europe! I hope that Cathay reopens this outstation lounge in the future!

wtf this took you six years to post??? get outta here with this garbage
Hi Frank,
As I wrote in my note at the beginning of the post, my previous employer had a strict rule on potential conflicts of interest. As I had to get everything I wrote approved, the decision was made that I not publish anything that could potentially create an impression of a conflict of interest (of mine or my firm). As I have since changed to a job where the conflicts of interest are much narrower, I decided to publish my old photo albums into reviews. They are as much for me to keep them in a historical record as they are for everyone to enjoy. I have made sure that the year is listed in the article title, first paragraph, and included a note pointing to all of this. I appreciate the time you took to read the review and know that these are meant as an archive and commentary, and not news.
Cheers!
