Revealed: The colourful business class amenity kits at Ethiopian Airlines

Business class passengers on long-haul flights usually see amenity kits handed out by the crew. These are either the same for everyone or there are two types, one for the ladies and one for the gentlemen.

Recently I flew business class on Ethiopian Airlines, and happily received my very own kit on every flight. What pleased me was that these come in a variety of different colours that reflect the airline’s livery.

Inside Ethiopian’s Amenity Kits

Just like Pokémon, you gotta catch ’em all, so I wanted one each of the red, yellow and green versions. I was quite pleased with myself on my final flight when I swapped the red one at my seat for a yellow one on someone else’s seat. That is, until I mentioned it on a forum and was informed there’s also a grey one!

The realisation that everything inside the kit colour matched the outside tickled me. How very cool! Inside the kit are the ubiquitous socks, eye mask, lip balm and ear plugs, something virtually every airline provides. Ethiopian Airlines elevate their amenity kits though. They include a comb, toothbrush and toothpaste, hand sanitiser, face mask, and glory be, a pen! Having a pen when flying internationally is needed more often than not, so having a sexy airline branded one is excellent.

Overall Thoughts

I’m clearly delighted with the kits handed out to Cloud Nine business class passengers at ET. They are very thoughtfully designed, from the cute logo zipper pulls to the hook that will allow them to hang in the shower.

There is no lack inside either, with everything you could possibly require during flight. The fact everything is colour matched is also a canny detail and makes them really worth collecting.

What do you think of Ethiopian’s Cloud Nine amenity kits? Do any other airlines do variations like this? Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.
