I have summarized all the flight delay insurance available with your Canadian credit card issued by all major banks of Canada.

If you do not want to read through all the coverage information, the most important question is, which is the best credit card in Canada for car rental insurance?

I had to break it out into two different categories, one for families and the other for individual travelers.

Family Travel

Scotiabank American Express Platinum card is the best credit card with flight delay insurance as it covers up to $1,000 per insured person for a flight delay. For a family of four, traveling on their annual vacation, they will be covered for expenses up to $4,000. That is a very generous benefit available only with the Scotiabank American Express Platinum card.

Individual Travelers

American Express is also unique because their travel insurance benefit covers for any delay greater than four hours, regardless of the delay reason. Hence, there is no way for American Express to use the terms & conditions to weasel their way out of paying out your expenses.

Conclusion

Finally, the American Express Platinum insurance benefit is considered the best amongst all the major credit cards in Canada. There is a reason why I pay my annual fee every year for the American Express Platinum credit card. My flights get delayed often enough that the card pays for itself, many times over.
