A few days back, I wrote about how Chase was planning to introduce new offers to entice existing Chase Sapphire Preferred customers (like me) to upgrade to the Chase Sapphire Reserve. We don’t know the exact details of those offers yet. However, the fact that the offers will be launched soon was confirmed by an official Chase source on Reddit. Now, Chase is also going to launch a massive 200,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points offer on the Chase Sapphire Reserve.
Massive Chase Sapphire Reserve Offer
As per Doctor of Credit, Chase has sent out an internal memo about an upcoming offer. Chase will be sending out targeted offers as high as 200,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points. The key thing to note here is ‘select clients’. This shows that it will only be available to clients that meet certain criteria.
Initially, once the offer is launched, customers will need to visit their nearest branch and request a banker to pull up the offer. However, we don’t know yet about when the offer would be rolled out to all customer accounts online as well.
Here’s what the offer looks like:
- You’ll earn 200,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after you spend $10,000 in 6 months of card membership
If you’re looking to rack up Chase Ultimate Rewards points quickly, then Chase is currently offering three amazing welcome bonuses right now:
- Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business: Earn 200,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after you spend $30,000 in the first 6 months of card membership.
- Chase Ink Business Cash: Earn $900/90,000 Ultimate Rewards points after you spend $6,000 in the first 3 months of card membership.
- Chase Ink Business Unlimited: Earn $900/90,000 Ultimate Rewards points after you spend $6,000 in the first 3 months of card membership.
The Pundit’s Mantra
While this offer is great, it will be highly targeted. It seems like Chase might go after two types of customers with these offers. Firstly, customers who’ve never had the Chase Sapphire Reserve cards in the past. Secondly, they may target existing Sapphire Preferred customers who have put a decent amount of spend on their cards over the years.
I picked up the Chase Sapphire Reserve right after it was launched in 2016, with it massive 100,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points offer. While I was not impressed by the recent refresh and the higher $795 annual fee, I may be tempted to get the card again, if Chase indeed targets me with a 200,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points offer.
