ANA to launch new Pokémon-themed livery on three of its aircraft. In a bid to tap into both nostalgia and engagement, All Nippon Airways (ANA) is teaming up with The Pokémon Company to launch three new Pokémon-themed aircraft in 2026. This move commemorates the franchise’s 30th anniversary. ANA has had a long term partnership with Pokémon. Their first special Pokémon Jet debuted in 1998.

Three Jets, One Pokémon Story
ANA will roll out three aircraft dubbed “Pokémon Jet Red,” “Green,” and “Blue”. This is inspired by the original Game Boy games that launched the global phenomenon. The fleet will include a Boeing 787-8 and 737-800 for domestic routes, alongside a 787-9 for international service. This marks the first time in about a decade that ANA deploys Pokémon jets domestically and internationally. Rather than standalone designs, ANA intends the jets to form a connected visual narrative. The first is expected to be revealed in May 2026.

An Immersive Pokémon Travel Experience
ANA is positioning the new initiative as a true immersive experience. The jets will feature Pokémon branded amenities and tie into the current ANA Pokémon jets. Red, Green and Blue will join Pikachu and Eevee. Each aircraft will include part of the story.

Conrado’s Thoughts
ANA’s latest Pokémon collaboration is so cool. Growing up with Pokémon on the original Game Boy console and playing multiple generations of the games is a fond memory of mine. ANA has historically collaborated with global brands for special liveries (such as the Star Wars themed aircraft). Flying on one of the Pokémon Red, Green, Blue will be a treat, and for all of us who grew up loving the games and manga will bring strong feelings of nostalgia. The 30th anniversary of of the global phenomenon that is Pokémon will now travel across Japan and the world on ANA. Can’t wait to fly on one of them, and hopefully catching them all.
