One of the nicest pleasures in life is to use a sauna. This usually consists of a little room with wooden benches inside which is heated to a high temperature. Having a nice sweat is good for you.
It’s fun to know we live in an era where it is possible to get a sauna in an airline lounge. There are just two locations where you can experience this preflight treat.
Airline Lounges With A Sauna
The sauna originates in Finland, where some variation or another has been around for hundreds of years. It’s perhaps not too surprising that the Finnair Platinum Wing in Helsinki features one. This was opened in 2019 and you can see an image of it at the top of this article. That lounge is available for oneworld Emerald frequent flyers only.
Overall Thoughts
As a devoted oneworld alliance flyer, I have never had the pleasure of flying Air France. I keep hearing good things about their on board service and amenities, so if you do fly them it seems you can’t go wrong.
A sauna in an airline lounge is happening for me quite soon though, as I am visiting Helsinki in August. The whole jaunt is solely to try their business class product on the A320 and A350, plus to finally try the Platinum Wing. Good times ahead, I’m sure.
Have you tried Air France’s sauna in Paris or Finnair’s one in Helsinki and if so, what was it like? Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.
