Let’s take a video tour of Aer Lingus’ new Airbus A321LR

Aer Lingus Airbus A321LR

Ireland’s Aer Lingus has taken delivery of their very first Airbus A321LR. These efficient aircraft will be operated on transatlantic routes out of Dublin and Shannon.

Featuring a competitive international product including on board Wi-Fi, fully lie-flat beds in business class, and inflight entertainment for all, it should prove popular with passengers.

Aer Lingus Airbus A321LR Video

To introduce the new Airbus A321LR, Aer Lingus have put together a video showcasing the features of the aircraft. There is a 50% reduction in cabin noise, which is always welcome on long trips.

I’m quite pleased they point out things such as the massage function in the business class seats. I found that quite nice when I flew Aer Lingus business class. Check out the video below, it runs for about two and a half minutes.

The new economy class seats are certainly eye catching with their design. Most importantly there are USB charging ports at every seat as well as charging plugs. These are things I always need when I am flying!

One thing to note about these new aircraft is they will be flying on some European routes, such as certain services to London, Paris and others. This means passengers purchasing an AerSpace ticket in Europe will get the full lie-flat experience on certain flights.

Overall Thoughts

Airlines love the Airbus A321LR because it allows them to open new routes that may not be economically viable with larger aircraft. Aer Lingus will use the new jet on flights such as Dublin to Hartford, Shannon to Boston, Dublin to Washington Dulles, Dublin to Philadelphia and Dublin to New York Newark.

Connecting passengers from Europe to the USA via Ireland is a strategy paying off for the Irish airline. Out of all the IAG airlines, they have the highest return on invested capital in the group. Long may it continue!

What do you think of the new Aer Lingus Airbus A321LR cabin in the video? Have you flown Aer Lingus on a transatlantic flight before? Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.
