Air Transat Plans Ottawa to London Flights

Air Transat plans Ottawa to London flights to start next year. Air Transat today unveiled new additions to its Summer 2026 international network, including three new routes and the conversion of several seasonal services to year-round operations. The move reflects their growth push into Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean. These flights should be able to build off of feed from Porter Airlines.

New International Routes

  • Ottawa ↔ London Gatwick (LGW): Starting May 15, 2026, Air Transat will launch its first nonstop transatlantic service from Ottawa, operating three times weekly (Fridays, Sundays, and Tuesdays)
  • Quebec City ↔ Marseille: Beginning May 21, 2026 (through October 8, 2026), a weekly service (Thursdays) will link Quebec City and Marseille. This route will complement its existing Quebec City–Paris service.
  • Quebec City ↔ Fort-de-France (Martinique): Set to launch December 14, 2025, will be extended into summer 2026 with a weekly Monday flight.
  • Ottawa ↔ Montreal: Adding beyond their flight to London, Air Transat will fly an Ottawa–Montreal route summer seasonally from May 5 to October 23, 2026.

  • Montreal → San José (Mondays / Fridays)
  • Toronto → Cartagena → Medellín (Wednesdays)

Final Thoughts

Air Transat continues its expansion into Europe. The airline, a hybrid carrier, focuses on Montreal and Toronto flights to Europe. They have had an extensive cooperation agreement with Porter Airlines. Porter focuses on domestic and transborder routes out of Toronto and Montreal with a flight of E2-195s. With Air Transat’s continued expansion into Europe and South America, I wouldn’t be surprised if they add more partners across the pond. They already have a codeshare with Turkish Airlines, I can see them cooperating with Vueling, British Airways, GOL and Azul.
