Breakfast time when flying business class is not my favourite. However, I was looking forward to seeing what Aegean Airlines offered on Athens to Dublin, as I found their inflight meals in business class to be very good indeed.
Since I was on a status run, I flew in to Athens in economy class and cooled my heels in the main terminal for a bit. As soon as the Aegean Airlines extra-Schengen lounge opened, I hot footed it in there and chilled out for a couple of hours.
Boarding
For some reason boarding with Aegean is always a bit chaotic. Apart from London Heathrow, every other place seems to be a bit of a free for all, negating any kind of priority. I’m also quite miffed a business class ticket gets you Group 3!
A3630 – Athens to Dublin (ATH-DUB)
12 December 2025
Airbus A320neo – SX-NER
Seat: Business Class 1A
Departure: 08:45 Arrival: 11:20
A cheery “Yassas!” greeted me from the crew, and the basket with sweets was offered. I took one and made the very short walk to my seat in the front row.
Aegean’s A320neo Cabin
As you can see on the AeroLOPA seat map, the front row has more room than all the other rows. I like the feeling of spaciousness, and the nice tray in the middle seat.
Lets fly from Dublin to Athens!
Eventually everyone was on board and we had the safety demonstration. This is given in Greek and then in English, which makes sense since the plane was going to Ireland. We took off and climbed into the clear morning air.
Toilet Time
However, I decided it was time for a pit stop, so I flipped my tray over and popped into the forward toilet. As it was the beginning of the flight all was spic and span.
Breakfast Time
I selected the Crepe with Scrambled Eggs, Turkey Fouantré, Graviera Cheese, Mushrooms, Spinach Bechamel, and Feta Cheese. I thought that sounded nicer than the Croque Monsieur, which is often a go to on Aer Lingus. This came with a seasonal fruit platter, yoghurt, bread and jam.
Overall Thoughts
I would choose Aegean Airlines business class for a flight from Athens to Dublin over the competition every day of the week and twice on Sundays. It’s just a very good product, with all the bells and whistles, such as inflight Wi-Fi, great food, friendly crew and so on.
Naturally I was particularly pleased to have no-one sitting next to me, which made the flight even nicer. I’m quite happy with Aegean and see why the airline is so well regarded amongst European frequent flyers.
