OK, Gary’s post this morning got me to thinking. I really do want to fly the AA A321 transcontinental product. I have no idea whether it’s selling well or not, I just want to try it. I flew the first AA transcon from DCA to LAX, and I know this will be even better, on a brand new airplane!
As you may remember, I used to live less than 15 minutes from DCA. As a result, I have more US miles than AA miles at the moment. Knowing that I can now book AA flights with US miles, I decided to do a little checking on usairways.com. The end result – I found the AA transcon A321T flights I want in a few weeks for just 50K Dividend Miles.
Rest assured, I’ll be blogging about my experience. But best of all, I get to fly the current best transcon product in the sky. Looking forward to it is a BIG understatement.

Does anyone know if AA flight 245 DCA-LAX is the new version 737-800 or old? Shared screen or seatback tv? I suspect it is regular first class and not premium. I am hoping it is more like the A321 transcon from JFK to LAX.
Chris,
I’m pretty sure it can be either. Others will chime in if it’s known to be dedicated to the newer interior, but I doubt that it is.
