You will receive these five free night certificates after you spend $8,000 in the first 6 months of card membership. Since each certificate is worth 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy points, you can use the certificate at properties charging up to 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.
However, Marriott lets you top up 15,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night if you’re falling short while redeeming points. In effect, if you have 75,000 Marriott Bonvoy points, you can use this welcome bonus to book a stay at any property offering up to 65,000 (50,000 + 15,000) Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

Overall, this is a fantastic welcome bonus if you qualify for a business credit card. Even if you wish to cancel the card after one year, you’ll receive enough benefits in addition to the welcome bonus to give you a decent return on that annual fee of $125. If you decide to renew after the first year, you can also put that annual free night certificate to good use in order to derive good value from the card in the second year as well.
If you don’t qualify for a business credit card, then you can also go for the consumer credit card offers by American Express.
