One of the great things about transferable points currencies is that they help you keep your points pooled together in one account instead of having to transfer them out. This helps you hedge your points against a possible devluation in a single points or miles currency, as we found out recently. At the moment, American Express is offering four new points transfer bonuses to start the month of June. Let’s have a look.
New Points Transfer Bonuses
Three of these bonuses seem to be widely available to everyone while one is definitely targeted.
British Airways Avios, Air Lingus AerClub and Iberia Plus
You’ll get a 30% bonus when you transfer your points to these loyalty programs. The standard transfer ratio is 1:1. With this transfer bonus, you’ll be able to transfer at a ratio of 1:1.3 for a limited period of time. This transfer bonus ends on July 15, 2025. You can transfer up to a maximum of 999,000 points in increments of 1,000, as per the terms and conditions.
You must be an eligible Membership Rewards® Card Member enrolled in The British Airways Club in order to participate in this offer, visit https://www.britishairways.com/travel/register-now/public/en_gb to enroll. If American Express® Rewards Checking and/or American Express® Business Checking are your only Membership Rewards® Products, you are not eligible for this offer at this time. American Express is not responsible for availability of flight, accommodations or any other rewards in The British Airways Club. Once you have transferred Membership Rewards points, they become subject to the Terms and Conditions of The British Airways Club and cannot be transferred back to your Membership Rewards program account. Taxes, fees, charges and surcharges, including airline surcharges, apply on British Airways redemption flights and upgrades. See British Airways Club Terms and Conditions for details. Individual air carrier restrictions may apply.
Minimum transfer is 1,000 Membership Rewards points. Redeem for this exclusive offer from 12:00 a.m. MT on 6/2/2025 to 11:59 p.m. MT on 7/15/2025 to receive 30% additional Avios. Additional Avios will be awarded at the time of transfer. Generally, transfers are immediate but please allow up to 72 hours for the transfer to be completed.

Amex to Hilton Honors: Targeted Transfer Bonus

This particular bonus seems to be very targeted. In my case, I’m not able to see the bonus on any of my cards, even on cards that earn Membership Rewards points and charge a heavy annual fee. In case of P2, she’s seeing a 25% points transfer bonus on her Amex Everyday Preferred Card. Some people are reporting a points transfer bonus of up to 30%.
The standard transfer ratio is 1:2. If you’re targeted for the 25% bonus, you’ll be able to transfer at a ratio of 1:2.5. If Amex has targeted you with a 30% bonus, then your ratio jumps to 1:2.6. What’s really odd about this points transfer bonus is that there’s no specific end date that has been published by Amex.
The Pundit’s Mantra
If you’re lucky, then you’re probably seeing a transfer bonus of 30% to Hilton or even higher. No bueno for me. However, the question remains, should you transfer points in advance? In most cases, I’d say no, unless you have a specific travel plan in mind on the horizon.
Has Amex targeted you for the transfer bonus to Hilton? If yes, what transfer ratio are you seeing? Tell us in the comments section.
