There was a lot going on this week. Confusion over whether a Chase Sapphire benefit is going away, and much more, as we round up some of the stories we covered this week.

Is this Chase Sapphire benefit really going away?

A Reddit post let to a lot of confusion about whether Chase was about to kill a ncie points earning benefit on the Chase Sapphire Cards. Thankfully, Chase’s official handle on Reddit confirmed that wasn’t going to be the case and that they were not planning on making any changes to that benefit for the time being.

Is the Amex Platinum Card Worth Its sky high $895 Fee?

American Express recently refreshed the Amex Platinum Card. The card now carries a hefty annual fee of $895. While American Express has added a ton of new benefits, these benefits may not be as useful to some people compared to other.

After Amex refreshed the Amex Platinum Card, they increased their Hotel Credit benefit to $600 each year. While the credit is split bi-annually, the true value can only be extracted from the benefit if the rates that Amex offers are competitive with the rates you see while booking direct.
