Last week, the relaunch of the Amex Platinum Card and the Business Platinum Card dominated most of the news cycle in the miles and points space. That and more as we recap stories from the week gone by.

Is the ‘new’ Amex Platinum Card worth the $895 Annual Fee?

So after all the fervor and chatter, the Amex Platinum Card has finally gone live with its new benefits. So, now that the annual fee is $895, is it worth getting this card with the much higher annual fee?

If you’re an existing cardholder, you’ll enjoy all the new benefits with the lower annual fee, if your next annual fee is billed on or before January 2, 2026. This is fantastic for people who have card renewal dates between now and the end of this year.

$3,500 in value? Amex Platinum Card refresh: 10 things you need to know

American Express is claiming that card members can derive up to $3,500 in value from the American Express Platinum Card. I’d take that with a huge grain of salt. However, to be fair, this refresh is a lot better than the previous one. American Express has made a great attempt to offer a little bit of everything in three main categories: travel, dining and entertainment.

Huge 250,000 points offer on the Business Platinum Card!

While the welcome bonus on the Amex Platinum Card was disappointing, the Business Platinum Card seems to have hit it out of the park. The standard 200,000 points bonus is available pretty easily. I was able to pull up a 250,000 points offer via referral links. This post describes how you can access the offer. Also, some data points indicate that Amex has targeted certain people for offers as high as 300,000 points on the Business Platinum Card!

Limited time Marriott Bonvoy credit card offers ending soon…

Amex is currently offering welcome bonuses of up to 185,000 Marriott Bonvoy points on their co-branded credit cards with Marriott. If you’re eligible, then these welcome bonuses are about to end soon on Sept 24, 2025.

Earn 90,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points with these new Chase offers!

Chase is now offering higher than usual welcome bonuses on two of their business credit cards. 90,000 points offers are amazing for cards that charge no annual fees and you can also enjoy a 0% intro APR for the first year.

  1. Meanwhile on BoardingArea, other bloggers shamelessly touting lesser offers just so they can collect their fat affiliate commission.
