25,000 MQM’s and a 50 Percent Bonus from Delta and Amex

Widely blogged about already, but I did want to mention it.  Delta and American Express Membership Rewards are running a promotion similar to the “Go Farther” deal late last year.  Transfer 50,000 MR points to your SkyMiles account and receive a 50 percent bonus.  As part of the deal you also get 25,000 Medallion Qualifying Miles.  That’ll make you instant Silver Medallion.  It’s especially worth considering if it pushes you past Silver into Gold or Gold to Platinum.  You can register for the promotion here.  Note that it’s for first time transfers only.

Furthermore, I participated in the Go Farther promo in November and have yet to receive the bonus miles and MQM’s.  Delta keeps telling me to wait until 6 weeks after the promo ended (December 15) so we’ll see what happens.  Delta, please send me my miles and MQM’s!

I moved 55K points over and received instant credit with Delta. Since I went over the amount, I also got 25% bonus. The one transfer netted me 87K miles. This put me just shy of my next mileage goal. Works like a champ!

My points transferred immediately and my MQMs posted immediately, too.

It worked for me instantly but has not recognized my silver status yet. How long does that take to work?

When I tried to register I was told that I wasn’t eligible. I spoke to both AmEx and Delta and it seems the promotion is only for those who have never transferred points from AmEx to Delta. Was a bit unclear in the email I received. I really wanted the MQMs. Signing up for Delta Platinum AmEx card – can earn up to 40,000 MQMs per year.

@Sandy. Me thinks you have a ton of very wrong and bad info. Me also thinks MJ needs to get on the phone with AMEX not DELTA as they are the ones to push the MQM’s. As far as this new promo, if you first register, then get the card, then do a first time transfer, you get 25000MQM almost immediately or at most 24hrs. It is crazy to think you can not earn higher status. This is NOT like a GIFT of status. This is just RAW MQM’s. I went from GOLD to PLATINUM again last year with my… Read more »

Amex says it’s Delta’s responsibility to post the bonus miles and MQM’s. 🙂

Sandy

I called Delta & AmEx about this. Base points will transfer immediately, but bonus points don’t post until 6-8 weeks later (says AmEx), or until 4 weeks after the promotion ends (says Delta). The promotion ends May 31, so the Delta CSR I spoke to said MQM wouldn’t post until June 30th or so (May 31 + 4 weeks). I was also told by Delta (a different CSR – I called twice) that the MQM might not push from Silver to Gold; he thought it would only work to get from no status to Silver. Note there’s a second level… Read more »
