No, this is not a paid promotion. American Express Aeroplan Reserve Card (Canada) was easily the winner of the welcome bonus offers, amongst recently announced enhanced suite of Aeroplan Credit Cards. Not only for the highest welcome bonus offer (Up to 75,000 Aeroplan Points), but also the options it offers to those that may have not signed up for the waitlist offers, or perhaps for those that prefer a Buddy Pass over few extra Aeroplan points. I was lucky enough to get my hands on the freakishly real looking welcome kit. Courtesy of Aeroplan, here is the unboxing of the personalized demo kit I received;

The welcome kit is an elegant Navy Blue box, with just enough weight, which made it feel special.

The precision cut and engraved 13g metal card is front and centre of the welcome kit. Perched up on a on a sleek black background, with the new Aeroplan and American Express brand logos. The pull open tab with ‘Don’t live life without it’ really hits home the niche perks this card comes with.

Pulling the tab open was like opening a mini treasure trove within, which included a welcome letter, and several postcards, emphasizing the perks and luxury the card promises for a cardmember.

The handheld feel of the metal card, and the ‘clang’ when placing it on a hard surface are unmatched. 13g of metal and the sleek design with new Aeroplan logo were a source of real joy to me. If only there was a real account attached to the card.

Hey Amex/Aeroplan, if you are reading this, please consider pre-loading some cash on my next demo kit, would love to write about ‘the feel’ when I pay for my travel with it čśë
