Back in 2015, I passed through the new Qantas Hong Kong Lounge and was thoroughly impressed with the design. Here are a selection of pictures which show what the lounge looks like, plus what I wrote about it at the time.

Qantas Hong Kong Lounge

Let me say, this is probably my favourite lounge in the world now. It has such a stunning design, is bright and airy, and has everything you need in an airline lounge (read: free pour champagne, wifi and food!). Top notch! The entrance is stunning, which you can see at the top of this article.

A sort of sidewalk cafe type area is below, where you can sit if you’re eating food, as most people would be doing in an airline lounge at some stage.

For some reason the flooring is really appealing. The Australian airline’s lounge concept is to use the local city as an influence and this definitely carries across in the Qantas Hong Kong Lounge.

Even The Toilets Are Cool!

The Men’s toilets are absolutely gorgeously designed. Individual mirrors are over each sink which creates a nice sense of space so you’re not crammed up against someone while washing your hands.

One wall in the lounge has a great big feature wall of a picture of Hong Kong.

I would have to rate it better than the Cathay Pacific lounges in Hong Kong, which I found not to be to my taste or as comfortable.

Overall Thoughts

The Qantas Hong Kong Lounge is just so wonderful! All good things come to an end though and it was time fly to London.

And that is how I wrote about it in 2015. I have to laugh at how I slate the Cathay Pacific lounges, however this was before the current design came into play, which I absolutely love, as regular readers will know.
