Another week has gone by and it is time for me to summarize this week’s posts for those who have missed out. Links are provided to each one for curiosity.
This was a quiet week for PYCR. I wrote two news posts and a “best cards for…” post, which highlights multiple cards that are great for a certain situation or bonus category.
Without further ado, here’s the weekly review:
Marriott Sending Elites Downgrade Emails
On Monday, One Mile At A Time reported that Marriott began sending downgrade emails to certain people with elite status. Those who received these emails are very unlikely to maintain their current level of status. The emails discussed the level of status to which they are falling to.
Plus, this post also discussed how you can achieve the different levels of Marriott Bonvoy Elite status. The lower levels are easiest to obtain because you can get there by having a credit card. But the upper levels require at least 50 nights per year.
Chase Offering Targeted “Just For You” Offers That Bypass 5/24
Tuesday’s post discussed targeted offers from Chase that bypass 5/24. These offers have either green or black stripes at the top of them. They also have language that says that you are pre-qualified or pre-approved and a star in the top left corner.
What is so special about these offers is that they do not count towards the Chase 5/24 Rule. That means you can apply, and the card does not take up a “5/24 slot” for future Chase applications.
Plus, I also listed the steps for checking if you have one or more of these offers in your Chase account.
The Best Cards For Non-Bonus Spend
On Friday, I spotlighted some of the best cards for non-bonus spend. These cards are the best way to earn points and miles for purchases that do not fall into a bonus category. Most of the cards mentioned in this post have a flat rate earning structure. But there is one that does not because of the sheer value of its points.
I hope that everyone has a great Sunday! Stay posted for more content next week!
