Another week has gone by and it is time for me to summarize this week’s posts for those who have missed out. Links are provided to each one for curiosity.

All three of this week’s posts are “what you see is what you get” in their titles. Two of them are News posts and the third is a Card Wars post. Unlike last week, this featured nothing special at PYCR.

Without further ado, here’s the weekly review:

Comparing the Chase Sapphire Credit Cards

Monday’s post was a revamp of an old Card Wars post that compared the Chase Sapphire cards. The Sapphire Reserve changed drastically in early January 2020 and so did the differences between the Sapphire cards. This post highlights those differences by stating which consumers would be better off with a certain card.

Furthermore, this post proves that the Sapphire Reserve is not for everybody and that many people are relatively better off with the Sapphire Preferred. Competing cards (such as the American Express Green Card) are not taken into account for this comparison.

Multiple Chase Cards Offering 5x Spend Offers to Targeted Cardholders

On Wednesday, Chase began targeting certain Chase Cardholders with 5x spend offers. Those with the Chase Freedom Unlimited or any IHG, Southwest, or World of Hyatt Card appear to be targeted. Chase is sending emails out with the offers, so check your email to see if you are targeted.

Jet Blue Increased Checked Bag Fees

Thursday’s post discussed Jet Blue Increasing their checked bag fees by $5. The last time Jet Blue increased their checked bag fees was in 2018. One way to avoid fees for your first checked bag is to get the Jet Blue Plus or Jet Blue Business credit cards. These cards waive the fee for your first checked bag on every flight. Three uses of this perk will justify either card’s annual fee.

Furthermore, Jet Blue added a $25 charge for phone services including booking and changing tickets. This fee was added to give customers incentive to book and manage tickets online or on the Jet Blue mobile app.

I hope that everyone has a great Sunday and happy holidays this coming week! Stay posted for more content next week!
