Background:

Since I moved to New York City this summer I’ve always wanted to see the East coast version on Vegas. So, was pleasantly surprised I had a comp offer with Caesars Diamond at Caesars Atlantic City for a Saturday night so I booked it. I had gotten Caesars Diamond status from matching my Hilton status to Wyndham Diamond with their Status Match (that has now ended).  There are still other ways to obtain Wyndham Diamond, then get Caesars Diamond, and there is a whole thread on it at MilesTalk.

Last Christmas I had a comp at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas which was nice, and I was excited to compare the two. Many friends from New York told me to lower my expectations for Atlantic City versus Las Vegas, so I came with managed expectations. I was actually pleasantly surprised! While obviously Caesars Palace in Vegas is grander and nicer, the Caesars Atlantic City was not a bad spot to spend a weekend!

The cool thing with Diamond Status at Caesars is that the resort fee is waived, so a comp room really is comped. The only difference between Atlantic City and Las Vegas is that in Vegas, you’re not on the hook for local/state taxes, but in Atlantic City you are. So it ended up being $7.50 in taxes for one night here at the Caesars Atlantic City.

Driving into Atlantic City:

Coming in with managed expectations, driving around Atlantic City was a bit barren, and there were lots of abandoned buildings nearby. You really want to just stick to the major hotels and the boardwalk when you visit.

Arrival to Caesars Atlantic City:

We arrived around 1pm, and thankfully we were able to check in early. I overheard the manager tell all the front desk associates to upgrade everyone out of the Forum (oldest) Tower, and sure enough we got an upgrade.

The comp room on Saturday was only showing the Forum Tower as available to book online, but other days (weekdays) showed the renovated Ocean Tower and Centurion Towers.

We were assigned a room on the 25th floor of the Centurion Tower and I first was really excited thinking we would have a nice view.

Until this:

The 25th floor is really the 5th floor lol. So no view haha. On the other hand, stepping out of the elevators, I think the hallways were very well done!

Caesars Atlantic City Centurion Tower Room:

The room itself was nicely appointed, and I was pleasantly surprised! It felt roomy and featured 2 Queen Sized beds in 450 square feet.

Different than Vegas, there was a coffee machine, and also a mini fridge for personal use.

There were plenty of power plugs/USB connectors to charge your devices, and I really liked the hooks and luggage space they had next to the TV. I feel like it was a pretty well designed room.

The mattress was firm and comfortable, and I didn’t mind the pillows but my friend said he thought they were too flat.

One issue was that my flat sheet was kind of stained, and had some holes in them as well. (I had poor sheet quality at the Caesars in Vegas as well, seems to be a recurring theme)

Other than that, the room was pretty clean, and the AC worked. The view was pretty bad, but at least it was quiet.

The Bathroom:

The bathroom looked sleek, and the shower pressure was great and even featured a wand. There was a separate W/C area which was a nice separate space. Overall, solid bathroom!

Property Grounds:

It definitely felt smaller than Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, and there were slots on the lobby level and then a larger gaming area with tables and slots one floor down. The grounds did feel a notch less luxurious than the Vegas counterpart.

There’s a whole portion called “The Wild West” where they put the Sportsbook and it has lots of empty space which felt kind of dreary.

The Nobu Restaurant just opened the week we arrived, and they are actually opening a Nobu hotel Spring 2023 which is quite interesting to me! Our visit was a weekend and it was still much less crowded than a weekend in Vegas. Additionally, I’m not sure if the luxury hotel segment would do well here as it is much different than Las Vegas.

The hotel also features 8 restaurants, including Gordon Ramsay’s Hells Kitchen and a Morton’s Steakhouse.

There is a Salon and also the Qua Spa, but I did not visit any of them on my trip. The pool is currently closed for the season.

I noticed that service was excellent, and everyone seemed to be friendlier than staffs in Vegas to be honest. Perhaps because they want to attract more guests as it is emptier in Atlantic City?

Parking:

On weekdays self parking is $10, or $15 on weekends (free for Caesar’s Rewards Platinum, Diamond and Seven Stars).

Valet parking varies in price and is free for Diamond and Seven Stars members and a $20 one time fee for hotel guests. You get discounts as Platinum and Gold.

The Verdict:

Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay at the Caesars Atlantic City and was pleasantly surprised by the renovated rooms. Glad I got to escape the city with a little weekend getaway!
