Take note that travel advisory and risk levels continue to remain critical for Egypt, with advice to avoid all non-essential travel – Canadian Travel Advisory for Egypt

My Take

Tourism in Egypt has taken a huge plunge since the downing of the Russian flight which killed 200+ passengers, and the subsequent suspension of flights (to Egypt resort towns) by Russia and EU countries. Egypt eVisa system is a great development for travellers that have Egypt on their mind. This should significantly improve the visa application experience and help navigate the snaking lineups at border control upon arrival. I sincerely hope this is part of a larger initiative to revive tourism in that region. #ThisIsEgypt on instagram and let your wanderlust take over.
