Hyatt’s latest points purchase promotion is a Hyatt 25% discount on points , available with minimum purchase of 5,000 points, for transactions until December 31, 2020. Note that this is a 25% discount, as opposed to the 30-40% bonus points promotions we have seen in the past. This discount brings the price of each point down to 1.8 cents. This is not the lowest, since we have periodically seen Hyatt points being sold for 1.7 cents a piece. While this may not be the best purchase point, it may be worth buying if you are considering a mattress run at Category 1 properties, to achieve Hyatt Globalist status!

Hyatt 25% discount on purchased points – Mattress Running

I am certain that you have by now read at least one of 1026 blogs discussing how World of Hyatt members can achieve elite status 50% faster with reduced 2021 earning criteria. Well, if you haven’t, here is 1027th 😉

World of Hyatt will be reducing the Base Point and Tier-Qualifying Night requirements by 50 percent so members can achieve or requalify for status and enjoy elite benefits in half the time.

Reduced 2021 World of Hyatt elite status qualifications include:

  • Discoverist – Stay five Tier-Qualifying Nights or earn 12,500 Base Points
  • Explorist – Stay 15 Tier-Qualifying Nights or earn 25,000 Base Points
  • Globalist – Stay 30 Tier-Qualifying Nights or earn 50,000 Base Points

Additionally, Bonus Journeys promotion provides members the ability to earn double Tier-Qualifying Night credits through February 28, 2021, if they register by January 15, 2021. Simply put, all nights count twice for everyone. Which means 15 nights (Jan 1 – Feb 28, 2021) would allow members to achieve Globalist Status, until Feb 28, 2023

Dial back to the current points purchase promotion, where members can get 55,000 points for $990 – thats 11 of 15 nights required if used towards stay at a Category 1 Hyatt property, which cost 5000 points per night. Obviously everyone must do their own math and compare cash rates at local properties with points stays. This is yet another opportunity to make your mattress running cheaper, imo.

Will you purchase Hyatt points at this rate, to mattress run your way to Globalist status?
